Our income is down on 2020 and previous years as we only offered associate membership due to the pandemic uncertainty from €5,786 in toto to €3,090 in 2021 which consisted mostly of the €2,000 DCCI grant funding.
Our outgoings for 2021 are €4,846.
The Network made a loss of €1,581 in 2021 which was not unexpected given the current situation we find ourselves in and the fact that we only offered associate membership for €10 in 2021.
A reduced membership subscription of €30 for 2022 was agreed by the committee to enable us to continue top provide online services.
- 3.CTN Textile AwardCarmel Creaner
Carmel and Mary French attended at the Crawford Graduate Show and viewed all the students work, noting the Textile Artists and choose Lorraine Parker to award the CTN prize. The prize consists of €500, the chance to give a Thread Talk to our members and one years membership.
The other Crawford Textile Students are given a years membership to encourage and support them as they leave college.
Going forward we will award two prizes; the Helen Stringer Memorial Prize €250 for concept based textile work and the CTN prize €250 for excellent demonstration of technical ability and mastery of their chosen skill. Both artists would be invited to give a thread talk on their works and inspiration.
