Cork Textiles Network , Culture Night 21 September 2018.
The Swan Lake was a site specific instillation on Emmet Place created by Cork Textiles Network. It was situated outside the old Denise
Moriarty School of Dance highlighting the history of the area’s connection to ballet. The modern street furniture was transformed by
members of the Network with the bollards being decked out in individual tutus and two large knitted fish hung from the outer black
railings of the Crawford Art Gallery. The stage was set and current dancers from the Joan Denise Moriarty School of Dance were
invited to perform in the space.
Cork Textiles would like to thank Helen O'Shea and Martina carroll for co-ordinating this wonderful event.
The photography for this event was taken by Tony Compagno and we would also like to thank the Opera House Cork for allowing access to the balcony during the event. We hope you enjoy the images.
